This is Agnes. She was born November 1, 2010 and is a feisty Afrikaaner little pug. We brought her home on January 2, 2011 - two days after our wedding. I had a wonderful pug, Lily, prior to this who passed of kidney failure in October at the ripe age of 7. The poor thing had just immigrated from the US to South Africa and only got to experience her new home for a month.
Lee wanted to name Agnes Lily2. I could think of nothing worse to call her! We thought about Lulu, Lola, Lucy to honor Lily's memory. Then, we were talking about little old ladies and how pugs look like little old ladies and the name Agnes came up as a joke. The whole family started calling her Agnes before she was even brought home, thus the name stuck.
This is mainly a picture blog and to keep up with her antics, so I can stop boring my friends with all of her details. They can instead read this instead of me broadcasting to everybody. And, who doesn't like looking at pictures of funny pug antics?
Day we brought her home. So tiny! |
This is her favorite toy, the warthog. We are now on number 2 and will probably have to purchase number 3 soon. |
I bought this pug for my husband before he bought me my pug Lily. It's fun to compare because the stuffed pug looks so big next to the babies, and then suddenly, it's tiny next to the growing pug. |
Nothing better after a hard day's work than a lounge in the pool. |
After I potty in the house, I get locked out. And then complain loudly to be let immediately back in. |
If you're not paying enough attention to Agnes, she crawls under furniture and howls until you lift the furniture and help her out. |
This is her friend Sidney the Jug (pug/jack russell mix). Agnes tires a lot more quickly than Sidney does. |
My hobbies include gardening. Or tearing up the garden. |
